pen-pal   =  /ˈpen ˌpal/ (noun) a person with whom one becomes friendly by exchanging letters, especially someone in a foreign country whom one has never met.

sound   =  /sound/(verb) convey a specified impression when heard.

run     =  /rən/ (verb)  be in charge of; manage

(be) into   = /ˈinto͞o,ˈin(t)ə/ (preposition) expressing movement or action with the result that someone or something makes physical contact with something else

attend school   = /əˈtend skul/ (verb) be present at school

distant    =  /ˈdistənt/ (adjective) far away in space or time.

commuter train=  , (noun) a train that people use to get to and from work.

half (sister/brother)= (noun) sister or broher who is related to her sibling(s) through only one parent

slip back = (verb) To move accidentally out of a particular position and back to a previous one

Sejarah Perkembangan Sosiologi || SOSIOLOGI KELAS X

Sosiologi didirikan oleh orang-orang Yunani kuno. Awalnya merupakan bagian dari filsafat sosial yang membahas masyarakat. Namun pada saat itu, pembahasan tentang masyarakat hanya berkisar pada hal-hal yang menarik perhatian umum, seperti perang, konflik sosial dan kekuasaan pemerintah. Dalam perkembangannya, pembahasan tentang masyarakat meningkat pada cakupan yang lebih mendalam, yakni meliputi susunan kehidupan yang diharapkan dan norma-norma yang harus di hormati dan ditaati oleh seluruh anggota masyarakat. Sejak itu berkembanglah kajian baru tentang masyarakat yang disebut sosiologi. Dalam buku Sosiologi: Menyelami Sosial di Masyarakat (2007), pada abad ke-19 seorang filsuf asal Prancis bernama Auguste Comte mengemukakan kekhawatirannya atas keadaan masyarakat Prancis setelah pecahnya Revolusi Prancis.
