Talking about tenses, we remember how we use the sentance using the kind of tenses, it also related to the time, event or action.
See the example below:
the example above means that Thomas everyday drives a bus because he is a bus driver, but now he is not driving the bus, he is a sleep.
He is driver is called as simple present, because The action or the event that Thomas do, as habitual action; the action repeatly doing everyday as his job.
1. Tell about General Truth
Simple Present use for to tell the action as General truth and it can't be changed from past until now or then in future.
2. Tell what happens all the time
from the first example above, we can say that the nurses always look after the patients, this action happens all the time at hospital. Every nurses look after or care the patients.
3. Tell habitual action
If you want say something about action as your habit or action that you always do more than one time, you must use simple present tense.
4. Tell items or events that are scheduled
This tenses also use to tell the action that are scheduled. If you want make tell about schedule, use SIMPLE PRESENT
The FORMULA of SIMPLE PRESENT
1. AFFIRMATIVE
Remember; for third persons subject, the verb 1 must be add by -s or -es, it depends on the verb.
For verb with suffix -O, -CH, -SH, -X, atau -Z, add with -ES.
Example:
• go – goes
• catch – catches
• wash – washes
• kiss – kisses
• box – boxes
• fix – fixes
For Verb with suffix consonant 'Y', omit Y and change with -IES.
Example:
• carry – carries
• study – studies
• worry – worries
• marry – marries
Meanwhile, for verb has suffix vocal 'Y' just add-S.
Example:
• play – plays
• say – says
• enjoy – enjoys
2. NEGATIVE
Remember, for the third person subject She/he/it after 'does or doesnot' back use VERB 1 NOT verb -s/es.
Example: she doesn't go to the market.
3. INTERROGATIVE
for interrogative sentance, 'Do or Does' use in the first sentance after that followed by subject and verb 1, it also for 'to be' use in the first sentance followed by subject and noun or adjective.
